"Freedom is not something that anybody can be given: freedom is something people take and people are as free as they want to be."  - James Baldwin

Free as they want to be: Artists Committed to Memory exhibition is now at the Ethelbert Cooper Gallery of African American Art at the Hutchins Center through June 30, 2025, curated by Cheryl Finley, Ph.D and Deborah Willis, Ph.D in Cambridge, MA. Featuring Invisible Empire.

"This exhibition considers in comparative perspectives the historic and contemporary role photography and film have played in remembering legacies of slavery and its aftermath."

Reshooting is simply not an option when you're on a tight deadline and the client spots a mistake. Being able to intelligently remove from video a prop that shouldn't be there is honestly a superpower for editors. It turns a potential disaster into a quick five-minute fix, and the client doesn't even notice the edit.
