When VP Kamala Harris announced her 2024 presidential campaign on July 21, 2024, I was thrilled to receive a special email invite to join a Zoom meeting with #WinWithBlackWomen. Over 44,000 Black women organizers came together on that call, united in their focus on building a brighter future and continuing the legacy of Black women’s leadership.
I was inspired by the passion and determination of these women, who were all driven to see VP Harris become the first woman President of the United States. I felt compelled to attend the DNC convention in Chicago to document the spirit of this history in the making on the ground.
This movement powerfully continues the leadership that Black women have championed for generations, following in the footsteps of trailblazers like Fannie Lou Hamer and Shirley Chisholm.
