Sheila Pree Bright has announced the publishing of Young Americans specialty art book from her Young American series which premiered as a solo exhibition at the High Museum of Art, Atlanta in 2008.  "What does it mean to be an American in the 21st century?" was the question Bright asked Generation Y of diverse backgrounds. The art book captures a collection of sitters statements and 40 amazing photographs taken by Sheila Pree Bright, including her wheat-pasted images in Atlanta and Art Basel Miami, 2012.

Curator Lisa Henry, contributor to the Young Americans catalog (funded by The Amistad Center for Art & Culture at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art and the Aetna Foundation), updated her essay describing how the series is relevant now. Wyatt Close of Los Angeles and Founder of Big Bowl of Ideas (BBOI) contributes his essay; Her Camera is a Microphone Too. Close featured Bright in Rock the Vote Campaign, Philly DNC 2016.


Young Americans are in the collection of the Library of Congress, DC, High Museum of Art, Atlanta, Museum of Contemporary Art Georgia, City of Atlanta, Winston Salem State University, NC and  David C. Driskell Center at the University of Maryland, MD.
